Selenite is the cleansing stone, sweet thing — long white stick that looks like crystallized milk, soft as a fingernail, a bath mat for energy. Wave it around the room after a fight. Run your other crystals along it to clear them. Don't get it wet. *That's the only rule.* Sinderella keeps one on the windowsill above the kitchen sink.

The long version

Selenite is a soft, white, naturally-cleaving form of gypsum — it grows in long fibrous wands that look like crystallized milk and feel soft as a fingernail. In folk crystal practice it is *the* cleansing stone — the one you use to clear other crystals, clear a room, clear a tarot deck, clear yourself after a hard conversation. Practice: hold the wand in your dominant hand, wave it slowly through the air at chest level around the perimeter of a room, especially in the corners where energy stagnates. To clear other crystals, lay them on or near the selenite wand for an hour. To clear yourself, run the wand slowly down each arm and each leg. *The only rule:* selenite is water-soluble. Do not get it wet. Do not wash it in the sink. Do not leave it in a humid bathroom. Wipe it with a dry cloth if it dusts. The 6-inch wand size is the practical workhorse — long enough to use as a tool, short enough to keep on a windowsill.
