Sinderella's note

Moonstone is the Cancer stone, my creature — translucent, blue-flash, looks like somebody trapped moonlight in a rock and sold it for twelve dollars. Jupiter just walked into Cancer for the first time in twelve years. This is the stone you keep on the windowsill until mid-2027. On the new moon: hold it, ask for what you need at home, set it down. The Moon does the rest. Saint Anne for the keepers.

The long version

Moonstone is the traditional stone of the Moon — which is to say it is the stone of Cancer, since Cancer is the Moon's sign. The blue-white flash (called *adularescence*) is caused by light scattering between internal crystal layers — microscopic, physical, real. It looks like someone bottled the feeling of standing in the ocean at 2am. Sinderella has kept one on the kitchen windowsill since 1997. Jupiter entered Cancer on June 9, 2026 — the first time in twelve years. Jupiter in Cancer is the big abundance cycle for home and family: the universe is blowing into your domestic life for the next year, and what you put on the windowsill matters. Folk practice: keep a moonstone where the morning light hits it during the full twelve months of this transit. On each new moon, hold the stone, name out loud what you're *calling into the home,* and set it back in the light. Not a wish list. A declaration. Jupiter responds to clarity. The tumbled form — smooth, palm-sized, catching the light — is the working version. Avoid the polished spheres (decorative) and the rough raw chunks (too unfinished for this work — you want the stone to have been shaped a little, like a decision that's been considered). The blue-flash rainbow variety is stronger in folk practice than plain white moonstone; the flash is the signal. Cleanse at each new moon under cold running water, then set it in the windowsill in the moonlight to recharge. If Jupiter is in your sign (Cancer), this stone is doing double duty. If Jupiter is transiting your fourth house regardless of sign, same deal. Saint Anne (the grandmother, patron of the long labor of home-making) for this stone. The Moon herself for everything it holds.

"Kneel. Light it. Walk away. Don't look back, little saint."
